Perhaps, you are concerned about your financial future and considering starting a small business venture. One lucrative business idea is a pool maintenance business. People simply love their pools, and even those who don’t are reluctant to get rid of them. Of course, some people buy a house and are stuck with the pool maintenance duties. Keeping a pool well maintained is a very difficult task. Most pool owners would rather hire a professional pool maintenance team to keep their pool clean. Therefore, investing in a pool maintenance franchise makes perfectly good sense. This is especially true for those investors who live in the warmer climates.

What is A Pool Maintenance Franchise?

Certainly, you could strike out on your own, and start a pool maintenance company. However, the odds are against you for achieving great success in this highly competitive industry. There are large franchise companies which are competing against those small companies. Guess who wins all the customers? The franchise owner is the winner. Purchase a franchise and enter the playing field on equal terms with other well established franchise owners. You now have access to use the franchises pre-established name and trademarks. A franchise will supply your new company with built in customers and professional marketing and advertising material. Clearly, a pool maintenance franchise provides a unique investment in your financial future.

Why Should You Invest In a Pool Maintenance Franchise?

Wouldn’t it be great to start a new business with a professional advisory team to answer your questions and give you guidance? Well, a franchise company provides plenty of support for the new business owner. They are on your team and want you to succeed. More and more people are starting to recognize this as being a great business opportunity in order to succeed and earn profits on their own terms with their own business.

How to Invest in a Pool Maintenance Franchise

Surprisingly, a number of people dream about starting their own business, but do not act upon this dream. Don’t let this happen to you. Make plans now to invest in your own pool maintenance franchise. Did you know that now is the best time to go out on your own and start a business? Getting started is much easier than you might think. The franchise does everything it can in order to help you to succeed; when you win they win. Investing is as simple as finding the territories offered in your area and buying into the franchise.

In today’s economy, many people are turning to small business franchise opportunities to either supplement current income or replace their current jobs all together. What is it that is so attractive about owning a small business franchise?

For starters, as a small business franchise owner, you work for yourself. No more punching a time card and being paid slave wages by the hour. You control what you earn, when you work and how much you work. By investing in a small business, you can literally fire your boss, and go to work for yourself. When economic hard times hit, you can rest assured that layoffs will not affect you, as you are the boss.

Secondly, investing in a small business franchise is educational. Have you always wanted to do payroll, but had no accounting experience? Have you thought if you were the hiring manager that you would only hire a certain type of person? As a small business owner, you wear a lot of hats. You are now the department head of accounting and billing, human resources, customer service, marketing and general operations. While this may seem overwhelming to some, many small business franchiseopportunities come with a road map to streamline all these roles making it easier for you to run your new business. In the beginning there will be a lot to learn, but with the right franchise opportunity, you will be given all the training and support you need to be successful.

Lastly, as a small business franchise owner, there are many tax credits you can take advantage of. For example, if you run the business out of your home, you can deduct the portion of your home used for your office. Office supplies, furniture, other business equipment including computers, printers, fax machines, etc are all deductible as business expenses as well. Do you take clients out to eat? Do you use your personal vehicle for business use? What about travel expenses for your small business? All of these things are tax deductible. Be sure to refer to the IRS for guidelines on what can and cannot be deducted from your small business franchise.

These are only a few reasons that investing in a small business franchise is a smart decision. ASP offers franchise opportunities to individuals interested in getting into the pool service industry. For more information, please visit our franchising site.

There are close to 4 million private and commercial swimming pool owners within the United States. All of them need products and supplies for maintaining their pools. Since there is such a huge demand for pool equipment and resources a person could open up a franchise to provide swimming pool products and services to consumers. The following information will explain how this can be accomplished.

There are plenty of pool maintenance franchises which sell products and provide pool cleaning services. They are typically located in many major cities and also in communities where a large number of pool owners dwell. Franchise opportunities are available for just about anyone who is interested in this type of business. The only requirements a person must meet are having enough money to purchase the franchise and the desire to learn the business inside out.

A pool maintenance franchise will vary by opportunity and/organization. However, most will cost at least at least $25,000 or more. Many organizations will expect a certain percentage for down payment. They will also require franchise owners to take and complete a business course related to the management and operation of the franchise. This will be necessary since a person will represent a franchiser’s name. Franchise owners do not want to offer their business to an individual who is incapable or who doesn’t have the desire to run one of their stores.

After a person learns how a franchise operates they can then start the operation process. Most pool maintenance companies will already have a customer base in place. Franchise owners can continue to serve them while expanding their market. Franchise owners will also have to work with suppliers and stay informed about the latest trends within the pool maintenance industry. They will probably need to hire a small group of workers to assist them on jobs. In some cases, if business is thriving, they will need to hire teams to perform service and sales related to the organization.

A pool maintenance franchise can be operated until an owner decides to retire. The franchise can also be built up and sold for a profit at a future date. Most franchisers expect a franchisee to operate their business for a set amount of time. So, a time commitment to this type of endeavor might be required. A pool maintenance franchiseis a business which a person must work efficiently and intelligently if they expect to turn a profit.

Have faith in your dreams and someday,
Your rainbow will come shining through.

The market for physical therapy products is booming, and will continue to grow, as the population advances in age. There is an untapped potential in the indoor swimming pool market for meeting this need. Therapy pools and spas are a growing market trend waiting for greater innovations.

Spas and indoor therapy pools offer several advantages for a unique segment of the population. Smaller in size than the conventional indoor swimming pool, they are often custom-built with special features to meet the needs of the elderly or handicapped. An indoor pool franchise can capitalize on the health benefits of using an indoor therapy pool or spa.

Because these pools are often custom-made, they offer the opportunity for greater specialization and less competition in the market. They also offer a wide-open market for pool maintenance, since maintenance would usually be done by the same company which provided the installation.

Growing Popularity of Swimming Pools Used In Therapy

Water therapy is already highly recommended by the nation’s top physical therapists, and used in conjunction with standard medical treatments. Considering the number of people, aged or not, who suffer daily from muscular aches and tension, as well as more serious illnesses, such as fibromyalgia; there is a real need for water therapy products which can be used in the home. It has been proven that even paraplegics can benefit from the therapy of an indoor swimming pool.

There is a strong emphasis today on personal health. As a result, consumers are willing to spend large amounts of money on exercise equipment, personal gyms, and other devices. Therapy pools fit well into the health-concerned segment of the population. They are also used in nursing homes and assisted livings for patient therapy.

How to Begin Your Own Therapy Pool Business

The perfect place to find opportunities to start an indoor therapy swimming pool business is with an indoor pool franchise. An indoor pool franchise can direct you to the best territories in the country for starting your own business. They can also provide you with marketing advice, materials and training in this specific industry. Because they have a corner on the market which is already established, a large part of the work involved with beginning your own business is previously done for you. An established franchise allows you the convenience of being able to monitor your progress in your fledgling business and compare it with other businesses in the franchise.

Starting a therapy pool business cannot only be a profitable enterprise, but can also be a personally rewarding venture. It allows you the opportunity to reach out to millions of people suffering from diverse muscular ailments and offers them a clear solution to their problem.

As we kick off the New Year, ASP has several things to celebrate and be thankful for.

First, we are an ever-growing pool maintenance franchise company. As of the date of this writing, ASP franchises are in 18 states with 178 locations nationwide! We are also open to more franchise partners joining us throughout the year.

Speaking of franchising, 2015 is the ten-year anniversary of ASP beginning its pool maintenance franchisenetwork! That’s right, in ten short years we went from 2 franchising owners, to 68 partners now running 178 locations. We are proud to see the ASP brand spreading across the nation and helping raise the bar on the swimming pool service and maintenance industry.

Along with the growth we are experiencing, we are also being recognized year after year as a best franchise company. 2015 is no exception. We have been listed in Entrepreneur Magazine’s Fortune 500 list for the fifth year in a row, moving up to spot 188 nationally. When we were first recognized on this list, we place number 468—again you can see how far the company has come in those five years!

While ASP continues to grow, our services and support team remain the same. We help pool maintenance franchise owners by providing them with a turnkey franchise system that allows them to hit the ground running. We offer a 12-day pool school training at our headquarters, and a 2-day on site training at the new franchise location. As an industry leader in the swimming pool industry, you will seldom come across a problem we have not already encountered and are there to help when needed. None of our pool maintenance franchise owners ever needs to feel as if they are alone in their business.

ASP looks forward to another exciting year of growth and challenges that stretch us and help us to remain the #1 pool service company in the nation.

2015 kicked off to a good start at the annual ASP pools franchise owners meeting in January. Franchise owners from across the nation gathered in Atlanta to discuss how ASP is doing as a whole, how individual pools franchises are doing, and where improvements could be made. The conference was well attended with over 95% of franchise owners there. CEO and Founder, Stewart Vernon said this was the best meeting in eight years!

In the beginning, a discussion was held on the state of the business for 2014. In this part of the meeting, Stewart Vernon shared with pools franchise owners the tangible part of the business—2014 statistics and growth of the company.

In 2013, the top 5 ASP franchises produced average sales of 1.1 million, and in 2014 that number grew to 1.3 million on average from the same top 5 franchise locations.

As exciting as these numbers are, the top 10 numbers were even more proof that the company is growing. In 2013, the top 10 locations produced 8.4 million in sales on average, and in 2014 that number grew to 10.2 million in sales on average by our top 10 franchised locations. That is an increase of 1.8 million in revenue over the course of one year! These numbers are important as they represent established franchises continuing to do well year after year. As the company grows and adds more pools franchise locations, the revenue of the company as a whole will grow as well, but if the established franchises are continuing to perform, it signifies that the marketing presentations, the website and anything else the company puts out there to promote growth is working.

ASP held our annual pool services franchise owners meeting in Atlanta, Georgia. Every year the meetings are well attended, and this year was no exception.

We had the privilege of hearing from founder and CEO Stewart Vernon, who taught about the what, how and why of our businesses as pool services franchise owners. He quoted from a Ted Talk by Simon Sinek who says, “Every business owner knows WHAT they do, most business owners know HOW they do it, but only some business owners know WHY they do it…” Stewart then proposed that this is backwards thinking, and that we should all know WHY we are doing what we are doing, and then work on the HOW we do it to improve WHAT we do overall.

Stewart began by sharing how the company leads by marketing the “why” of the pool services franchise business. ASP marketing principles say that ASP is providing solutions to swimming pool problems at economical prices, that ASP is changing the way homeowners view the swimming pool industry, and that we are a trusted company. But, how is each of the pool services franchises living up to these marketing claims?

Stewart continues by suggesting that as a company, we build trust by performing background checks on all employees-we know exactly who is in a customers’ backyard. We make sure all employees are uniformed properly, and driving matching company vehicles. We answer phones promptly, or return calls. We have a web presence so people can find us. We encourage customers to leave testimonials on our websites or Google reviews. All of these add to the trust that we are trying to establish with our customers.

Again, he quoted Simon Sinek, “People don’t buy what you do….they buy why you do it…”

As the meeting came to an end, Stewart challenged all pool services franchises to go into 2015 by starting with the why, work to improve the how, and all of the things discussed will improve the what.
