Stewart Vernon Delivers Motivational Speech to Young Entrepreneurs

America’s Swimming Pool Company (ASP) CEO, Stewart Vernon, delivered an unforgettable commencement speech to the 2017 graduates of the Young Entrepreneurs Academy program, YEA! Macon.

Since the launch of this program in September 2016, it has successfully helped 20 middle and high school students start their own companies.

Stewart is a successful businessman who started a swimming pool maintenance company as a young entrepreneur, at the age of 22. Today, this swimming pool maintenance company is known as ASP – America’s Swimming Pool Company, the nation’s largest swimming pool cleaning, repair, and renovation franchise system. He is also a founding partner of Classic Overland, a car import company, KUDU Outdoor Grills, and Central Piedmont Investment Group, an Angel Investment Firm.

In his 2017 commencement speech, Stewart speaks to the students of the YEA! Macon on the power of saving money, motivation, and hard work.

About ASP CEO & Founder Stewart Vernon

Founder Stewart Vernon is in charge of day-to-day operations of the franchise company, which includes duties such as brand management, vendor relationships, public relations, financial planning, and strategic oversight of his staff members. In addition, Vernon also serves as the CFO of the pool company.

Growing up and graduating college in Georgia, Vernon was looking for an easy business opportunity to enter – one with low capital and low overhead. Through extensive research, he stumbled upon the swimming pool industry and began a local pool company in Macon in 2002.

From cleaning and repair pools, one customer at a time, Vernon looked for ways to expand both the business model and the ASP brand. Continuing Success: ASP in Dallas Honored with Top Sales Award

Herschel Forester, Owner and Operator of America’s Swimming Pool Company (ASP) in Dallas, Texas, received Top Sales Award for 2016.

The Dallas franchise location has been ranked number one in sales for four consecutive years. It was announced this year that Forester and his team of 10 employees exceeded the $2 million mark for 2016.

“We have a team of dedicated, hardworking folks that make our business go,” said Forester.  “I have enjoyed having my wife, Cindy, work with us for the past couple of years. I am also proud of our pool renovation department that is very productive under Darren Kesler’s leadership.”

Reaching these goals has been a great accomplishment for the Dallas team.

Forester launched the Dallas location in 2010 by converting his previously self-employed pool business to an ASP franchise. Converting his business has been a significant factor in his growth, along with the counsel from both the Founder and Vice President of the franchise organization.

“We are proud of Herschel’s accomplishments and his ability to surpass sales expectations every year,” said Vernon. “This Owners Meeting encouraged owners to take their businesses from good to great, and that’s what Herschel and his team strive to accomplish every day in his business.”

Stewart Vernon, Founder and CEO of America’s Swimming Pool Company (ASP) explains the reasons behind the success of an ASP franchisee.

This meeting is packed minute-to-minute with incredible speakers and business-changing information.

What is the ASP State of the Union?

The main goal of the State of the Union is to let franchisees know that ASP is healthy and focused on continual growth. Mr. Vernon pointed out early on in the seminar that ASP was just as interested in investing back into its own brand as the franchisees should be in investing in ASP – success depends on everyone! In a “1+1=3” business model philosophy, every single party involved is just as important as the next and acknowledges that they all benefit from being together. Part of this goal is achieved by putting the “best and brightest” professionals in the corporate offices to support the franchisees who act as the face of the company to customers.

America’s Swimming Pool Company is also committed to thinking of new, innovative ways to advance the brand.
