Founder Stewart Vernon is in charge of day-to-day operations of the franchise company, which includes duties such as brand management, vendor relationships, public relations, financial planning, and strategic oversight of his staff members. In addition, Vernon also serves as the CFO of the pool company.
Growing up and graduating college in Georgia, Vernon was looking for an easy business opportunity to enter – one with low capital and low overhead. Through extensive research, he stumbled upon the swimming pool industry and began a local pool company in Macon in 2002.
From cleaning and repair pools, one customer at a time, Vernon looked for ways to expand both the business model and the ASP brand. Eventually, ASP Franchising, Inc. was formed in 2005 and quickly started to fill a void in the swimming pool service sector. The foundation of the model for franchise expansion is partnering with business-minded people who wanted to start their own venture and require a business road map to follow.
Today, ASP is a leader in the swimming pool industry, while also propelling in the ranks of the national franchise limelight. The success of the swimming pool company has been recognized by its inclusion in Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top 500 Franchise List.

ASP – America’s Swimming Pool Company announced the winner of the company’s Franchise of the Year for 2016. Clint Rowley, Owner/Operator of America’s Swimming Pool Company in Mesa, Ariz, was honored to be the recipient of this award when it was announced during the 10th annual ASP Owners Meeting in January 2017.
Five franchises were selected as a finalist for this special award and Rowley was chosen to be recognized as Franchise of the Year based on his time as an ASP franchise owner, his business’s total yearly sales, the ability to shine through the competition, and involvement in his community and the franchise organization.
Rowley contributes his success to the dedicated employees that make up Mesa’s team of qualified pool professionals. There are 12 professionals employed at the ASP location in Mesa, including two veterans who served in the Middle East.
“It was flattering and humbling to receive this award,” said Rowley. “I am proud of the honest and hardworking team we have built. This team is what has helped the Mesa location lead a path to success.”
The theme at the ASP annual event was 2017-Going from Good to GREAT, and there is no doubt that Rowley, and his team, exemplifies this keynote. Rowley first joined as an ASP franchise owner in 2012. His sales records have continued to accelerate in one of the most competitive swimming pool industry markets in the United States. Because of Rowley’s dynamic skills in sales, he was asked to lead a sales breakout during the ASP annual event. Rowley’s compelling personality makes him easily respected as a leader in the ASP franchise family.
In addition to Rowley’s leadership skills mentioned above, he is also a member of the ASP Franchise Advisory Council, Panel of Pros, and is a member of the Founders Club, which represents ASP franchise locations accomplishing over $1 million in sales.

America’s Swimming Pool Company – or ASP as we are commonly called – held its 2017 State of the Union meeting and seminar in Savannah, Georgia. Stewart Vernon, the founder and CEO of ASP, hosted the event, which was attended by ASP franchise owners and key members of the ASP family. This meeting is packed minute-to-minute with incredible speakers and business-changing information.
The main goal of the State of the Union is to let franchisees know that ASP is healthy and focused on continual growth. Mr. Vernon pointed out early on in the seminar that ASP was just as interested in investing back into its own brand as the franchisees should be in investing in ASP – success depends on everyone! In a “1+1=3” business model philosophy, every single party involved is just as important as the next and acknowledges that they all benefit from being together. Part of this goal is achieved by putting the “best and brightest” professionals in the corporate offices to support the franchisees who act as the face of the company to customers.
America’s Swimming Pool Company is also committed to thinking of new, innovative ways to advance the brand. Rather than staying static and content with what has already been achieved, Mr. Vernon discussed how ASP wants to develop new products and services for franchisees to offer and utilize for profit and equity. Some of the seminar’s time was designated to exploring new ideas and opportunities, as well as problem-solving issues that came to everyone’s attention in 2016. It is all part of the philosophy of “going from good to great.”
